The ornamental and lush green gardens of the Taj Mahal will first welcome you before you enter the beautiful and mesmerizing Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal reflects in the water when the fountains along the path of the gardens are not flowing.
The Taj Mahal stands on a platform of marble with its back towards the River Yamuna. Below the dome of the Mahal, is Mumtaz Mahal’s cenotaph. The actual tombs of Shahjahan and Mumtaz Mahal are locked in the basement under the main chambers but the visitors are not allowed to view them.
It is popularly said that whoever once visits the Taj Mahal, definitely visits it again.
